About us

Patrick Ottesen

Patrick’s passion for architectural salvage began during his residence in Chicago. While attending architecture school there he discovered the city’s rich inventory of historic and modern buildings. Through photography Patrick explored other venues of architecture and related fields by photo documenting vacant warehouse buildings and old theatres throughout the city. Passionate about historic architecture and the loss of great buildings, design and materials, Patrick discovered the industry of architectural salvage and antiques which blended with his personal talents and interests. For twelve years Patrick worked in the nation's largest architectural salvage businesses. While in Chicago he managed a highly respected store, was an international and domestic buyer and provided superior customer service. Patrick relocated to Kansas City to pursue a less hectic way of life and his dream of starting his own architectural salvage business where he could exercise his passion for architectural design and materials and provide legendary service. FOUNDATION is the result.
