FOUNDATION regularly hosts exhibits and special events and collaborates with other artist, vendors and visionaries to provide exciting enriching experiences.
The retail gallery full of interesting architectural antiques and elements is also available for special event rental. Host a private party, art opening, business meeting or wedding reception in our five thousand square foot architectural antique gallery or mastermind your own event at the THE FOUNDATION ROOM.
FOUNDATION celebrates three years of pioneering retail in the West Bottoms. Our annual furniture warehouse event marks the special occasion with fifty percent savings on vintage modern, mission and antique furnishings. The anniversary sale opening reception takes place the Second Friday in April from 6pm – 10pm. Come and enjoy quality affordable design, drinks and live 21st century jazz music by special guest River Cow Orchestra. Sale continues Saturday April 11th from 10:00am – 5:00pm
FOUNDATION presents Outono, performed live by Monta At Odds. The high tech audio/video installation features the video artistry of VJDN8 choreographed to the music of Monta At Odds third full length recording Outono. In addition music selections by Fortuning from Lawrence and Scary River from Baltimore will also featured. Doors open to this event at 9:30pm show starts at 10:00 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $7.00 per person.
FOUNDATION presents Cupid's Bizarre Obsessions, a special edition Urban Bazaar offering a ton of guilty pleasure and treasure for you and your sweetheart. This original market of arts, fashions and artifacts is open Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, admission is free. The Saturday evening Bazaar session features musical guest performances by Mercury Mad – the Plastic Bitches, Yob and Waterfowl Habitat. Keep your pants on for the debut of Two Gun Tease Burlesque review featuring Kiki Severe, Mia Vicious and Eartha Delights. Live mannequins will also be on exhibit modeling fashion creations by the KC Fashion Core through out the night. Admission to the evening program is $10.00. Doors open at 8:00pm mature audiences only.
Bring in the New Year like you never have before at the Years End Fashion Rave. Come celebrate with Kansas City Fashion Core designers Cali Roberta, Take A Halliday, Melissa Birdsong, Pophearts and Janay A Handmade. A late night fashion show highlights the years past creative accomplishments with a designers and models New Years toast. Dance the night away or lounge in the massive West Bottoms loft to the cities hottest Dj talent featuring Nomathmatics, Botnet, Iggybaby, Sonic Electrojet, Jochen(hog–n) plus a live electronic music performance by London Transit. Bar service will be provided by Czar*Bar. This event is a twenty one and over only. General Admission at the door is $15.00 per person. Doors open to the public at 9:00pm.
Welcome to the shopping is entertainment event of the season. Purchase unique one of a kind pieces, vintage fashions & home furnishings direct from designers, artist and purveyors of all things eclectic. The eleventh annual Urban Bazaar offers a fun and adventuresome atmosphere for the shopping pioneer. The Friday night shopping party host an evening of modern cabaret with musical guest Alacartoona. Admission is $5. per person. This is an all ages event starting at 5:00 pm and is open till 10:00 pm. Beverage service will be provided by the Czar Bar. Saturday the Urban Bazaar presents a high noon concert featuring Yellow Lab and Yugen Sweatheart. The market is open to the public from 10:00 am through 3:00 pm and is free admission all day.
FOUNDATION presents an evening of art, architecture, fashion and performance inspired by Architect Bertrand Goldberg. Featuring the Night World Fashion Show presented by WearHaus showcasing fantasy designs by edgy local designers. Musical guest performances include onemilliontinytinyjesuses, Expo 70, London Transit and Mannequin Skywalker. Performance ensemble Thieves of Flight will execute aerial fabric feats in conjunction with the skills of VJDN8 and Dj MeatFoxxx. Works by artist Sara Ann Gallagher and Melanie Kasten will be on exhibit in the Night World gallery. General admission tickets are available at the door only the night of the event for $10.00 per person. Reserved seating for the 9:30 pm fashion program is available for an additional $5.00 per person with advance purchase only through FOUNDATION ($15.00) per person. visa/mc check/cash.

FOUNDATION presents the second installment of Under The Radar, experimental, electronic and independent music showcase. The October program features musical talent Expo 70, Mannequin Skywalker, Sonic Electrojet and Yellow Lab. Doors open to the public at 8pm. Admission for the all ages event is $5.
FOUNDATION presents the debut program of a new monthly music series promoting the pioneering and live performance of electronic, experimental and independent music. The launch show featuring musical guest Restless Breed, Yellow Lab, Yugen Sweetheart and Medicine Theory opens to the public at dusk. Admission at the door is $5.00 per person and is an all ages.
FOUNDATION and The Pistol Social Club present an evening of Theater featuring Missoula Oblongata (Baltimore) performing The Last Hurrah of the Clementines and Boom! (Kansas City) An International Lost and Found Family Marching Band. Saturday night only, doors open at 7:00pm. Admission is $7.00. Bring your own refreshments.

Foundation presents an exhibit and sale of original oil paintings by Disney artist Leonard Sebring (1897-1978). View this rare private collection of paintings commissioned by personal friends of the artist here in Kansas City from 1972-74. This unique estate is being offered to the public exclusively through FOUNDATION and will host an opening reception celebrating the work of Sebring from 5-9pm.

FOUNDATION presents this unparalleled shopping and entertainment event Friday the 13th with a special Fathers Day happy hour hosted by lillibelle and Jp wine bar with food by Arnones Cafe'. "My Dad Rocks" live music stage will feature the talent of local bands The Life & Times, namelessnumberheadman and The Sexy Accident. A live mannequin fashion exhibit will feature Kansas City designers christianMICHAEL and Cali Roberta with the Pink Pistols. The Friday Night Shopping Party is from 5pm - 10pm. admission is $5 (kids under age 12 free). Saturday the Bazaar is open to the public from 10am - 3pm and is free admission.
FOUNDATION proudly presents the debut performance of Le Voler. Witness their athletic artistry of aerial fabric acrobatics with music accompaniment by Dj Meatfoxx and videography by VJDN8, Friday at 9pm at the Urban Bazaar. On Saturday at 11pm Le Voler's premier performance at the fashion after-party also features a special midnight concert by Monta at Odds in THE FOUNDATION ROOM. Cash bar is provided by Jp Wine bar.

Check out this uber mixed market of art, salvage, home decor, vintage, handmade, fashion design and entertainment all under one roof. The Friday Night Shopping Party host a special happy hour with lillibelle and Jp Wine Bar, features live music by Zombie Orchestra and a meet and greet with the KC Roller Warriors. THE FOUNDATION ROOM presents Rustings by Luke Rothschild. The exhibit features a new series of rust painting from Rothschild's body of work generated by rusting oxidizing metal onto canvas, panel and paper. On exhibit through March 7th, 2008.

Celebrate the vision of one of America's most important Modernist Architects, Bertand Goldberg. This rare collection of original Goldberg Architectural renderings demonstrates the architects dedication to society and fulfilment of the human spirit. His achievements and philosophy of architecture were ahead of his time but are often overlooked even amongst established modern architectural circles. Exhibit closing festivities include Dj music and beverages.

Experience NIGHT WORLD, an exhibit of original visual arts, architecture and performance. This limited two night only event features an exclusive midwest performance of live music & dance by LA based String Theory Productions, fashion shows, art exhibits, food & drink bars, shopping, Dj's and dancing. Advance tickets are available for reserved tables of four ($100 per show) show times are (7:00pm and 10:00pm). General standing room admission is $15 per person for the evening. Come experience the world's longest linoleum print plus other creative works by Kansas City's talented printmaking collective Studio Rojo. The Spring Exhibition will feature the first public display of the 90-foot-long mural on paper, printed by hand, which is a candidate for the Guinness Book of World Records. Please join the artist of Studio Rojo for an opening reception, including refreshments and music from 6pm - 9pm.
