Brand Finch, F-STOP Architectural Photography Opening Reception

Ars Artium Omnium Conservatix opens Friday August 11 at Foundation Architectural Reclamation. The exhibit of black and white architectural photographs by Brad Finch captures our culture's values and ideals as they are expressed in the building in which we work, live, play, learn and worship. Brad strives to record architecture in such a way that the culture and design of the building will be understood many years from now, long after the original work is demolished.

Brad has photographed historic and modern buildings around Kansas city for 30 years. He has photographed over 4,000 in just the past 10 years! His work has been published in several books on historic architecture including the AIA "Guide to Kansas City Architecture and Public Art" for which he was the principal photographer.

This exhibit features black and white images of some of Brad's favorite buildings in the region, taken over a span of 25 years. Even though many of the images are of the area's most interesting yet largely overlooked modern architecture, a few have already been demolished or altered beyond their original appearance. Ars Artium Omnium Conservatix opens with a reception from 6 to 9 pm Aug 11. It runs through October 2006.
