Foundation presents the West Bottoms Urban Bazaar February 5th and 6th 2010. This original "Shopping is Entertainment" experience will take place on Friday from 10:00am to 11:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The Bazaar features a variety of contemporary and vintage art, home décor, furnishings, antiques, collectibles and fashion just in time for Valentines Day. If you create or trade something the West Bottoms Urban Bazaar is the market place for you!
The Urban Bazaar is held in the massive warehouse space located on the second floor above Foundation Architectural Reclamation at 1221 Union Avenue Kansas City, MO 64101. This once a month market is your opportunity to shop local and direct from area artisans, designers and business minded visionaries. Get first dibs on Friday morning or hit up the Shopping Party Friday evening at 6:00pm when the Bazaar host live music and performance in a fun shopping venue.
In celebration of St. Valentine FOUNDATION will host a special performance by Sinsations Burlesque presenting Panties Inferno! Featuring Kiki Severe, Hot Hot Heather, Shirley Mona, Romany Jewel, Foxy La Feelion (from St.Loiuis MO), Richard Stroker, Bebe Bayou and Mary Magadeline The Dancing Queen. Musical guest include The Hopeless Destroyers plus Glam Rocker Mercury Mad & The Plastic Bitches plus DJ Johnny 2 Tone and Bazaar resident Turntablist Jochen(hog-n) spinning 45's during the shopping party. Entry to this all ages friendly affair is Free during regular shopping hours, A guest admission fee ($8.00 Donation) will be collected during Friday evening's performance from 8:00pm - 11:30pm
The registration fee to become a vendor for the two day shopping event is $60.00 per 10' x 10' booth space . Vendor set up begins on Thursday from 11:00am - 9:00pm. Additional load in and set up times are also permitted during market hours all day on Friday and Saturday morning. Each vendor is responsible for all display set ups, racks, tables, chairs, mannequins, mirrors, electric power chords, etc. The booth spaces are marked off by tape (no booth rails, etc.). Spaces are allotted to each vendor based on the order application is received and description of merchandise being presented.
